CANCELLATION POLICY

A cancellation policy is common practice for most health-related appointments. It is designed to respect your time and resources, as well as my time, and to respect the time of other clients who may be waiting for an appointment. When you schedule an appointment, you are paying for a reservation of time made specifically for you.  So that you are clear on what can happen in the event of your decision to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please take the time to carefully review the following:

Cancellations made with more than 48 hour notice will not be charged.

2.

For cancellations less than 48 hours, the full session fee will be charged.

a) The fee can be waived if the appointment is re-scheduled for the same week and providing I have an appointment time available. I will do my best to accommodate.

b) There may be times where I waive the fee for you as a courtesy to you. This is usually the case for the first occurrence. Please note, a gentle reminder of the cancellation policy may also be given.

To remain consistent with all clients’ exceptions, late cancellation fees will only be granted in situations of serious illness, critical emergency, or an extreme weather event that prevents travel.

Circumstances sometimes occur where continuing therapy becomes a challenge. If there are more than 3 consecutive absences, I will invite us to discuss your needs and how to move forward. We may also discuss whether continuing therapy is appropriate, or if a break of a certain length is required. I encourage open dialogue and communication and will do my best to ensure that we are addressing any barriers that may be preventing you from attending our sessions. Your agency and autonomy will always be at the forefront of these discussions.

5.

There may be an occasion where I will need to cancel the appointment on the day of the session due to illness or exceptional circumstance. An attempt will be made to notify you at the earliest available opportunity. You will be offered another appointment time/day, and will not be charged in these instances.
